Colorblock Stripes & Chambray :: Outfit

Friday Fancies Link Up features outfits that you are crushing and how you recreated the look.
The minute that I saw Jessica from Bows and Sequins in this JCrew Colorblock top, I knew
I wanted to snag the piece for fall.  Luckily, it was on the way to my front door before it sold out completely.

As soon as it arrived, I began mixing it with many options in my closet.
 It's definitely one of my favorite easy/go-to pieces now.

JCrew Colorblock Top // JCrew Chambray Button-Up // Seven for All Mankind Skinnies //
**Good thing JCrew sold out of the McAllister Leopard Boot
or I'd be eating bread crumbs for a week to own them.**

I recreated this look just the other day with a pair of leopard wedges...
definitely not the McAllister boot, but they'll do for now!

~Happy Friday~
Have a FUN weekend!

Fall Camp Gear

Rugged Fall

My Photoshop is unfortunately acting up, so I experimented with Polyvore.
I'm definitely learning, so forgive me for this beginner designboard.
Here are a few items that have made it to my holiday wish list or
are already on the way into my closet as we speak.
Definitely more rugged than I usually go for...
I think adding a few gold jewels and a girly bun will add a
good feminine touch to the look.

I found a few substitutes for some of the above looks:

- Madewell Denim Vest :: Check out Target- $28.
They just put an awesome one on their racks by Xhilaration.
I can't find it in the online store, though. It's definitely worth a look.

-Topshop Camo Army Jacket :: I just snagged this one from Zara.

Check back tomorrow for a link up with Marionberry and The Pleated Poppy!

Comfort :: Outfit

Dress: Target {no longer available} // Jacket:  Old Navy // Belt:  JCrew
Jewels:  Michael Kors, Kate Spade, JCrew, Stella & Dot
Max&Chloe, C. Wonder

Sometimes waking up at 5am every morning calls for comfort.
Last week, I had something else in mind to wear, but my early morning wake up
mood could only handle something comfortable and easy.
In those moments, I grab the maxi and start mixing things up.
There are just so many options with it.

Game Day :: Outfit

In the south, tailgating for college football games is close to NYFW {not really, but you get the point}.
Picking what you'll wear to the game is a HUGE ordeal.
Fans outside of the south tend to think it's a bit much and way over dressed for football.
As I've gotten older, I am more into the game, having fun, and being comfortable.
I'm no longer sitting outside of a stadium sweating to death at a tailgate.
Although, it's cooling down a little, we still have really warm days down here.
Nowadays, I find myself sitting inside the local Gator bar, cooled by the A/C,
and a yummy draft in my hand!
Nothing glamorous- just a simple way to wear my team's colors without over doing it
for college football at a local hole in the wall.

 Top:  JCrew Factory // Shorts: JCrew Chinos // Shoes:  Old Navy
Jewels:  Necklace c/o EBay, Michael Kors watch, Kate Spade Take A Bow Bangle,

Check it out to see more bloggers wearing their team's colors.

Happy Friday!

No Fall At All

Signs of fall are plastered all over blogs and stores right now...
the boots...

the layered prints and mixed patterns...

and the comfy cozy sweaters.

But let's face it...the only thing missing is COOLER weather to enjoy these additions to our closets.
 I've been building my wardrobe with new pieces in anticipation for this next season.
I've been bookmarking fall looks that I want to recreate.
 I am like a giddy kid at Christmas waiting to be able to layer my popover shirts
with my Tippi sweaters, but it just "ain't happening."
I'm still breaking into a sweat walking to my car.

I'm stuck in summer... ready to retire many pieces for a year, but I can't.
So, I'll continue to slowly work in a few new pieces while deep down knowing
I could make it look so much better if I could just add another layer.
After four years of working at J.Crew, one thing I walked away with is-
"The Third Piece. A look is never complete until you have that third piece."

Friday Date Night :: Outfit

Last week was definitely a roller coaster at work, so we decided to go out and toast the weekend by trying a new restaurant in Atlanta. It was NOT what we expected. I won't name the restaurant simply because I don't want to give it negative press, but our meal was not enjoyable.  Imagine having dinner with a major "match making event" and reality tv show filming all around you. No matter how well they cooked our food, it would not change our perspective. Yelling across the table is not my idea of a nice meal. So much for the "We can certainly accomodate your reservation time. We have nothing on the books for that time slot."
 I think we'll go back to our normal routine next Friday- bottle of wine and chinese take-out!

Bright Dots :: Outfit

Teaming up with The Pleated Poppy and Long Distance Loving again for my fall favorites.
Colored cords are making another comeback this season, in addition to polka dots and loafers.
I snagged these Steve Madden sequin loafers a few months ago. I've been patiently
waiting for their debut. I love that this look can be a work or weekend style for me!

Top:  JCrew Tippi Dots, JCrew Stripes {old} // Pants: Mossimo Corduroy Pants //
Shoes:  Steve Madden Loafers // Sunglasses:  Ray-Ban Wayfarer 2140 //

Shop more Stella and Dot pieces here. Have you seen S&D's new collection coming soon?
Check it out on Instagram during NY Fashion Week - @stelladot

Another one of my favorite recent purchases ::
I've paired them several different ways, but only captured a few looks.
It'll be fun to throw on a blazer with them when it finally cools off!

Double Dipped Dots :: Outfit

Top:  Old Navy Dots {similar}, Old Navy Vest // Pants:  Loft Boyfriend Jeans //
Heels:  Loeffler Randall Tasmin Heels // Sunglasses:  Anthropologie //
Jewels:  JCrew Bracelets, Stella and Dot Pegasus Necklace // Clutch:  F21

Today's post definitely isn't as exciting as something from New York Fashion Week
{jealous of all of the recent blog posts and Instagram photos}, but you could say I was
just as excited when I snagged a few of these Old Navy steals.
We had just a touch of cooler weather during the morning hours this weekend, so I pulled
out my fave Loeffler Randall heels and doubled them up with an Old Navy dot top.
Unfortunately, an outfit change into shorts occurred later in the day due to the usual warm up!

Happy Monday!

Saturday Sparkle

Hope this Saturday has that extra *sparkle* added to it.
